![]() ![]() The smaller planet size is MUCH MUCH harder as it has less resources. People who can't afford decent computers but could still manage to run this on small planets (which wouldn't be any more difficult to learn on than large ones) don't get that option because apparently basic start game conditions are considered rewards. Ursprungligen skrivet av G Willikers:It also unnecessarily limits your player base. It's a bit unethical because development updates are kind of a big deal with Early Access products so to advertise a feature with its own post then arbitrarily lock it behind a significant amount of playtime is something of a bait and switch, even if it wasn't intended to be. Locking off basic game start conditions isn't a reward.Įdit: Went back to double check the announcement (the REsize update) and confirmed the update didn't mention this limitation. I could see unlocking new interesting god powers, new rival gods, new skins and uniforms, etc on subsequent playthroughs. It comes across more as punishing new players than rewarding existing ones. It was a terrible design choice.Įdit: My perspective as a new player is that the game is set up to be unwelcoming. It's a singleplayer game and there's no reason to create an arbitrary limit like that, let people play how they want. ![]() ![]() It also unnecessarily limits your player base. Overall I'm enjoying the game but this specific issue was really annoying and frustrating and you as a representative of cryptivo defending it while simulataneously devaluing it by giving away a file to unlock it really just says it all. Different sized planets was billed as a major game update and I don't recall those updates mentioning this limitation before I bought the game. It's a bad design decision, not a reward for finishing the game. I can see requiring to play through a basic tutorial, but getting to the modern age takes over 10 hours just so I can do it again on a different sized planet. You just offered to give someone a file to unlock them though, even you are essentially implying it's a pointless limitation. So we want people to play the standard game before branching out. It's reward for getting to the end of the game (well the current end of the game) which many games do if you want to unlock cheats, different play modes, etc.Īlso, smaller and larger planets can make things easier or more difficult.
